About Style Guides

A style guide is a set of rules used to standardize the format of a publication.  There are style guides for many different purposes--HTML style guides, for example.

The guides presented here are used by various organizations for articles published in, for example, journals, books, magazines, newspapers, and Internet sources.  Each style guide provides detailed instructions for citing sources referenced in the articles.
